Today, we’ll head to the southeast part of Morocco after picking you up from your hotel or riad in Errachidia. As you go through the Ziz valley, which is filled with palm trees, feel free to take photos of the golden sands. After going for an hour, you will arrive in Erfoud, a town famous for its dates and fossils.
You can keep exploring after taking a break for a cup of coffee in the morning. Make sure to check out the fossil workshop in Erfoud and visit their weekly market on Saturdays. Head directly to Rissani city for a real shopping experience, especially on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.
It’s time for a lunch break, so why not try Madfouna? It’s similar to a local pizza. Ask your driver or guide for the best place to enjoy it. You can visit the tombs of Moulay Ali Sherif after lunch, and then proceed to the Erg Chebbi dunes. Besides staying in a comfortable tent in a desert camp, you will also go on a camel ride to watch the sunset over the dunes. We will spend the night here and have dinner.
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the sand dunes, then go back to the tent for breakfast. We will leave the hotel later today and head to Boumalne du Dades. On the way, we will go by a canal system used for irrigation, and you can stop for lunch at either Touroug or Tinejdada.
After lunch, we head to the beautiful Todra Gorge, which has a green valley inside it. Before you set foot in the canyon walls and breathe its fresh air, a few photographic opportunities will be provided. Next, we go back to Boumalne Du Dades, where you’ll spend another night at a hotel that provides bed and breakfast.
After you have breakfast at the motel, keep going on your journey. You can either take a moment to appreciate roses or buy anything related to roses from April to May. When you visit Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Morocco, you can tour movie sets and see Kasbah Taourirt.
After that, drive by car to Kasbah Ait Benhaddou for lunch. Enjoy lunch and a walk of the movie’s filming location with a local guide. So, cross the high Atlas Mountains, where you can stop at an Argan Oil Cooperative to see how the oil is made. When you arrive in Marrakech, this is where you should be dropped off.
