Your 3 days desert trip from Fes to Merzouga starts when you leave Fes. Stop in Ifrane, which is often called “Morocco’s Switzerland,” as you travel through the beautiful Middle Atlas Mountains. You can see friendly Barbary macaques in the cedar woods of Azrou. Keep going through the beautiful Ziz Valley and enjoy the beautiful scenery. When you get to Merzouga, you’ll start your camel ride across the Erg Chebbi dunes. Watch the sun go down and spend the night in a traditional camp in the desert. Overnight, you can eat and listen to Berber music while you sleep.
Start your day with a Sahara Desert sunrise. You’ll return to Merzouga on camel after breakfast. Explore this unique terrain by off-roading to an old kohl mine, then visit a nomadic family’s tent for a typical experience. Drink Berber tea and learn about Berber culture while being received warmly. After that, visit Khamlia, a bustling village where you may hear Gnawa music and experience the region’s rich culture. Enjoy dinner and an evening at your hotel while thinking on the day’s highlights.
Leave the desert and return to Fes. While traversing the scenic Ziz Valley, stop in Erfoud, renowned for its fossil craftsmanship. While traversing the Middle Atlas The Rocky Mountains, ensure to capture images of the stunning landscapes seen along the way. In the late afternoon, you are going to arrive in Fes, and the journey will terminate either at your accommodation or at the airport itself, depending upon your flight schedule.
